Health Insurance (back to top)
Students and families in need of health insurance should contact Nurse Kern or visit Kalieda Health’s website for more information on health insurance programs and facilitated enrollment. Programs include, Medicaid, Child Health Plus (children), Family Health Plus (Adults), Prenatal Care Assistance Program, and State Aid (students with special needs).
Care Closet/Uniform Assistance Program (back to top)
Our Care Closet provides uniform assistance to families of growing (and occasionally forgetful students). When our Care Closet is unable to provide uniform assistance, the Uniform Assistance Program, sponsored by the PTA, is able to help. We are very thankful to the many GCCS families who have donated to the Care Closet in the past. Should you find that your child has out grown their uniform, please consider donating their gently used GCCS dress code compliant clothes, including shoes and belts, to the Care Closet. Contact Miss Thompson for information on how to donate and/or to receive uniform assistance.
Working Papers (back to top)
Students age 14 and older may work while they attend school with an employment certificate (or “working papers”). Students should contact their middle school or high school counselors for guidance.
Click Here to visit the New York Department of Labor website for information on working papers.
Vision Support (back to top)
Students in need of glasses, glasses repair, and/or an eye exam may qualify for these free services through LensCrafters’ OneSight program. Call the school at 821-1903 and ask for Nurse Kern for more information.
